Jakarta City Council's Legislator supports the efforts to handle inundation and flood through micro and macro water channel optimization.

Jakarta City Council's Commission A Legislator, Inad Luciawati, admitted many residents also delivered their aspiration related to normalization and new channel construction. It includes the resident of Kembangan Utara Urban Village, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

Inad stated her side will try to realize the aspirations since handling the inundation and flood are parts of Jakarta Provincial Government's priority.
"Hopefully the water channel optimization is able to prevent and handle inundation and flood," she added.
Moreover, Jakarta City Council Commission B Legislator, Francine Widjojo also received aspirations from residents in South Jakarta related with water channel optimization.
"Some of them were asking about widening and repairing water channel," she stated.
Francine wants Jakarta Water Resource Agency to conduct blocked channel dredging to anticipate flood especially during rainy season.
"I also told them that flood and inundation are not fully responsibility of government. But there is also contribution from residents by not littering," she admitted.
